CERAVOLO Optical Systems - Astrograph

The Rosette Nebula in Color

Our latest image acquired with the Ceravolo 300 Astrograph - the Rosette Nebula in narrowband and full color. An H&alpha image was blended with the red image to create an enhanced red layer. An OIII image was blended with both the green and the blue channels. The H&alpha image was then used as the luminance layer to create the high contrast LRGB image seen here. Total exposure time was 140 minutes. Image processing software used was MaxIm DL, Registar and Photoshop CS2. The image was taken at the Sunglow Ranch in south eastern Arizona.

Equipment used: Ceravolo 300 Astrograph at f/4.9 on an Astro-Physics 900 mount; Apogee U16M, 38 mm square - 4K x 4K pixel camera and Apogee color filter wheel with Astrodon RGB and narrowband filters.
