Heavy Accessories

heavy

Advanced imaging set ups such as this can be quite heavy, accessories can total 30 lbs or more. The stress imparted on the telescope can flex the tube and adversely affect collimation and pointing accuracy in a remotely operated observatory. The Ceravolo astrograph sports a heavy duty back plate, large diameter spacer rings for the focuser and an optical tube cradle with side plates for mounting accessories. Insulating the optical tube from the heavy accessories greatly reduces the potential for flexure.
